  Thought-provoking
Thanks for an inspiring and thought-provoking Editorial ‘When doctrines divide’ (LOL Aug, 2013) by Jacob Ninan. It is an analysis of the facts in the Christian church and Christianity, and also a broad-band criticism on the mindset of today’s Christians. Separations, disparity, dogmas, divisions on doctrines, partialities and complexities have crept into the immaculate Christian principles as the result of satanic efforts.

We should believe in one Lord and His church, failing which it is the way to hell we plan. While in this world, our God has given to us all of His blessings and favours to live peacefully.

I thank the entire LOL team and pray to God, the Almighty, to bless the team abundantly to bring so many souls to His kingdom by way of publishing worthy and needed facts and information.

  Experience-based article
What an important message! I mean the message Kezia Joseph has conveyed through her pithy article “Of fractured hands and walnut cakes!” (LOL, July 2013). ‘The good we enjoy, must be shared with those around.’ Yes! “Do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Heb.13:16). God is well pleased when we share our blessings with the less privileged people. St. Paul calls sharing a sacrifice!

Children of God are blessed by God. They should also be channels of blessing to others. The two things go together – receiving and giving. Who will not agree with Kezia Joseph when she concludes her article saying, “Our happiness is not defined by what is kept before us; it is defined instead by what we choose to see.”? Didn’t the little boy focus on the cake in his hand rather than the hand in the plaster? How encouraging his attitude was! Quite encouraging, worth emulating!

We should take hold of the promises of God. That doesn’t mean the blessings we receive should take precedence over the Giver (Jehovah Jireh). We should thank and praise God for His provision. “God’s blessing is upon His people” (Psa.3:8b). Indeed!

I thank the LOL from the bottom of my heart for publishing such wonderful personal experience- based articles. Let me try to contribute such articles to the magazine. May God give me wisdom and strength to do that. Praise the Lord!
